I've been super busy this summer and now towards the end, I am getting even busier! So exciting and fun. My customers are so creative and have the best ideas. I will share some pics of what I've worked on. I've done a lot of custom block sets. I love the color combinations and bringing to life someone's idea.

This is a great set for a graduate of college, high school or anywhere. It can be customized with any wording and school colors.

This following are custom requests for new baby gifts. I love these! I think they're so sweet!

This set was ordered for twins. I think they're so cute! One set is done in brown and gray and the other is brown and yellow.

This block set was for a customer who has a friend that owns The Children's Play Gallery in Wisconsin. They are having a Grand Opening this Saturday, September 11, 2010 and she wanted a block set to present to her friend. She is hoping the block set will stay at the front desk for all to see. She wanted different sizes and shapes as she hopes the kids will play with them and arrange the set any way they like.

This is a fun Birthday set! I think it will be fun to use the blocks for birthdays and any other time they want to have fun with their names. It is all girl!

This a sign that came to me by special request. A girl and her husband just found out they were expecting. It would be the first grandchild for her father. She wanted a sign to give to her father letting him know that he was going to be a grandfather. Vovo is Portuguese for Grandfather. I would've loved to have been there to see his face when she gave it to him. I bet it was priceless!

These are my fall blocks! I have many more that I need to complete and post. Hopefully that will happen within the next week. So much to do and never enough time. Ü

I love this custom order! The colors are so great! It is a fabulous wedding, housewarming or shower gift. Or, if you would like a block set for a family room! I hope to make many more of these.

The following sets were teacher sets that I gave at the end of the year last year! I love these and I think they turned out great.

This last set I did for our school nurse. She loves it and proudly displays it in her office! I love the band-aid.

I am finally getting around to blogging and posting a few pictures of what I've been working on. I have a couple custom orders here that I absolutely LOVE! I think custom orders are the best because there is so much creativity out there and my customers have the best ideas. Plus, I love that I get to help their ideas come to life by way of a sign or block set.

This set was for a custom order from a customer that is LDS and she gave me a lot of history and this phrase is used in her religion.

This sign is a custom order from a customer at one of my craft shows. I liked the phrase so much, I had a stencil made so I can use it for others.

Letter Blocks

I am having so much fun making these letter blocks! They have been a big hit at my shows and I have many orders waiting to be made. They are fun and there are so many possibilities. I will be posting as I make these. My customers are so creative and I love their ideas and how the blocks turn out.

It has been entirely too long since I have posted anything about my signs and blocks. I have had a few shows this Fall and several orders and I am always trying to make new things, fill orders and get ready for the next show. I LOVE this time of year!

Here are some blocks I have made. This is definitely where I need to replinsh my stock and come up with new ideas. I am so excited to begin working on blocks!

I have diligently been working on signs this past week. I hadn't made any signs in a couple of weeks as I was pretty sick with a cold from allergies. Thankfully, that is all behind me so now I can get back to painting. I didn't realize how much I missed it! When I begin sanding, staining, painting and sealing, I just cannot stop! I LOVE IT! Here are some that I have done:

I have started some blocks and hope to have them finished this weekend. I am going to try a few personalized sets, also. I am having a great time with this and hope I continue to prosper from it.

Well, I finally did it - I made my own signs! I am pretty proud of them and am now kind of addicted to making them. :) It is fun! I am going to keep making more and I will be constantly posting more pics of them. Please keep checking back!

Welcome! I set up a blog under my old company name, Country House Designs, back in January of this year. I never took the time to do much with the blog as I didn't know exactly where I wanted to start. I am ready to do this, I think...

My new company name, Primitive Hodge Podge, has just officially changed as of August 8, 2008. I am really excited about it and have had some great results because of it. I hope you''ll check out my site.

Primitive Hodge Podge is a gathering of folk art, primitives and country wares. My business is in Allen, TX and at the beginning of August, I opened a booth at the Allen Antique Mall. It has been a success so far and I hope my business grows.

Well, I know this is a pretty slow beginning but at least it's something! I'll try to keep blogging as often as I can. Thanks!
